Residential Roof Replacement

A full roof system measured, specified, and installed by Armor crews — with a clear process from inspection to final walkthrough.

Armor Roofing and Home Services has replaced residential roofs since 1998. When a roof is at the end of its life, leaking in multiple places, or damaged beyond a sound repair, a replacement protects the structure underneath and resets the clock on weather exposure.

Crews serve Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky, Denver and the Front Range, and San Antonio and Southeast Texas. Start with a free satellite estimate or an onsite inspection.

Signs You May Need a Roof Replacement

A missing shingle or a small leak does not always mean the whole roof has to come off. Replacement is usually the better path when several of these show up together:

  • The roof is near or past its expected lifespan
  • Granule loss, curling, or widespread cracking across multiple slopes
  • Repeated leaks after repairs
  • Soft or wet decking found during inspection
  • Storm damage covering a large share of the roof

Roof Replacement vs Roof Repair

Repair makes sense when damage is localized and the rest of the system still has useful life. Replacement makes sense when the field shingles, flashing, or deck are failing as a system.

Armor inspects the roof and explains both options in plain language. If a targeted repair will protect the home, we say so. If replacement will cost less over the next several years, we explain why.

Our Roof Replacement Process

A typical residential replacement follows a clear sequence.

  • Satellite measurement or onsite inspection
  • Scope, materials, and written estimate
  • Tear-off of the existing roof
  • Deck repairs where needed
  • Underlayment, flashing, ventilation, and new shingles
  • Cleanup, magnet sweep, and walkthrough

Roofing Materials

Most Armor residential replacements use architectural asphalt shingles selected for the home, the neighborhood, and the local weather. Manufacturer options we work with include GAF and Atlas systems, depending on the project.

In hail-prone markets such as Denver, impact-resistant Class 4 shingles are often the better specification. Your local team will recommend materials that match the property rather than a one-size catalog pitch.

Architectural Shingles

Architectural shingles are the most common choice on Armor residential replacements. They have a thicker profile than three-tab shingles, hold up better in Ohio Valley and Front Range weather, and give the roof a cleaner finished look from the street.

Storm-Damaged Roof Replacement

After hail or wind, a replacement may be needed even if the roof is not old. Armor documents what we find, explains the scope, and can support insurance-related roofing work when damage is documented. We do not promise claim approval or speak for your insurer.

How Long Does Roof Replacement Take?

Most residential replacements are completed in one to a few days. Size, pitch, weather, and deck repairs all affect the schedule. We confirm timing before work starts so you know when crews will be on site.

Roof Replacement Cost Factors

Price depends on roof size and pitch, tear-off layers, deck repairs, material choice, ventilation, flashing details, and access. A satellite estimate gives a starting measurement. An onsite visit confirms anything the photos cannot show.

Armor Warranty

Residential roofing projects are backed by a 10-year Armor labor warranty. Manufacturer material warranties vary by product. Ask your team for the terms that apply to your specific roof.

Roof Replacement FAQ

Age, leak history, storm damage, and deck condition all matter. Armor inspects the roof and explains whether a repair or a full replacement is the sound path.
